Hair Transplant

What is a Hair Transplant?
A hair transplant involves moving hair follicles from one part of the body (the donor site) to the thinning or balding areas (the recipient site). The goal is to create a natural-looking hairline and restore density to areas affected by hair loss.
Types of Hair Transplant Techniques
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)
Procedure: A strip of scalp with hair follicles is surgically removed from the donor area, typically the back of the head. The strip is then dissected into individual follicular units, which are transplanted into the recipient area.
Benefits: Allows for the transplantation of a large number of grafts in a single session. It is suitable for individuals requiring extensive coverage.
Drawbacks: Leaves a linear scar in the donor area, which can be noticeable if the hair is cut very short.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
Procedure: Individual hair follicles are extracted directly from the donor area using a small, punch-like instrument. The follicles are then implanted into the recipient area.
Benefits: Minimally invasive with no linear scar. The recovery time is usually quicker compared to FUT.
Drawbacks: The procedure can be more time-consuming and may require multiple sessions for large areas.
Direct Hair Implantation (DHI)
Procedure: A variation of FUE, DHI involves using a specialized tool called a Choi implanter pen to simultaneously create channels and implant hair follicles. This method allows for greater precision and control over the angle and direction of hair growth.
Benefits: Reduced risk of transection (damage to hair follicles), improved control over hair placement, and often faster recovery.
Drawbacks:Typically more expensive than other methods.
